What About My Rights
The last week of February, I became semi-retired.
I was looking forward to spending more time with my friends and family. Those closest to me live in other states, so it would be a time where my husband and I could travel. Maybe buy an RV. Pack up the cats and be on our way. Spend whatever time we have left on this earth with those we love, and seeing all the beautiful sights this country has to offer.
But….
Two weeks after I became semi-retired, the lockdown started.
We had planned on flying out to CA the last week of March to spend time with my stepmom for her 85th birthday.
Those plans were scrapped.
Now I have no idea if I can ever spend time with her again. Watch Hallmark Channel with her and my stepbrother…. If I can give her a hug. Just hang out and be silly.
But please… by all means… I wouldn’t want to deny you your right to go without a mask….
If I sound selfish with my wants and needs… well… yes.. I am being selfish.
But at least I can recognize the fact that I am been selfish.
But you folks that think that not wearing a mask makes you a great American… you haven’t a clue.
Oh, I’m sorry…. you think you have a cause!
You don’t want to be told what to do. Blah… blah… blah…. The Founding Fathers would have never… blah, blah, blah…
Let me explain what a cause is…. at least one that is noble…
It’s when you sacrifice yourself, your comfort, your privilege, and stand up for those that either cannot or have not been heard.
To all of the Karen’s out there… don’t worry…. we hear you loud and clear….

If I see one more person post information on how COVID-19 is no worse that the flu, I’m going to throw up.
Let me dismantle your misguided narrative….
When flu season hits, THE COUNTRY DOES NOT SHUT DOWN.
Everyone does not stay home.
Most people do not wear mask.
ICU’s are not filled to capacity.
But then you whine… “I cant breathe… the CO2…”
Blah blah blah…
To that, I call bullshit.
Most of you have no clue what it feels like to not be able to breathe properly. Ask someone with CF what it feels like. Someone with Asthma. Someone with lung cancer…
Someone in an ICU with COVID-19.
And if you still feel like you can’t breathe, buy an Oxygen Saturation Monitor like this one that I bought for my best friend, to monitor her O2 level while she battled Stage 4 lung cancer and pneumonia. Test yourself. Go ahead… unless you think it will deliver you fake news…
Also, when you post flu statistics for an entire year, please remember it’s only July.
And COVID-19 did not get to the US until February.
So don’t compare 5 months (3 of which were in lockdown) with 12 months. It make you look like a term so often used by those that criticize those who wear a mask.

And those that are indignant because they can’t go to church without a mask and social distancing…
Breaking news… your higher power does not live in your house of worship. They are actually everywhere! Rejoice!!

Now don’t quote any out of context scripture to me. I grew up going to church. I can also Google scripture pretty well to shut you down, so don’t even go there. You will lose.

And then there is you… wanting to party with your buds… party in a bar, party at the beach, just to show everyone just want an amazing American you are because you won’t wear a mask…
I am pretty sure the Founding Fathers you love to embrace would bitch slap you in to the next millennium.
Because you completely missed the point.
