They Say People Don’t Change.
But I think almost everyone does change. Hear me out...
We have the notion that if someone is bad, they are always bad. And if they are good, they are always good.
That actually may be true.
But let\’s say we meet someone, and they seem like a bad person. The question is… are they really bad?
Or they a good person that now appears to be bad because of something that life has done to them.
This is why we shouldn\’t be so quick to judge people.
Now that doesn\’t mean you need to become friends with everyone you meet. But it does mean we should realize that everyone is human, on their own journey, one you are are completely unaware of. You might be meeting this person at a particularly rough junction in their life. So the best thing to do is not to judge and be kind.
You never know… your kindness might just be the thing that helps that person to adjust the course of their life.
Kindness is almost always the best option. But don\’t beat yourself up too much if you have trouble doing this. You are human as well.
We all need to strive toward kindness as often as possible. Good medicine for our soul, as well as those around you.
I think about how others have probably perceived me in the course of my life. I will be the first to admit that I can be a complete raging bitch when my buttons are pushed. But I know I am a basically a good person.
Things that trigger me to anger:
- Social Injustice
- Ignorance
- When those I love are attacked
But I also get angry when I\’m in the midst of a pity party.
So yeah, people are complex, and I am hopelessly human, as are we all.
The minute we stereotype, we start selling ourselves short, as well as those we have chose to stereotype.
And we all deserve better. And we are all capable of better.
Help the good people of the world get back to being the good person they started out as. It\’s heartbreaking to think of all of the good folks that never found their way back home before they were called away from this life.
