Thoughts on the Cancellation of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”
For any of you celebrating the end of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” there are a few things you may want to think about.
First, this was the top rated late night talk show. CBS was making plenty’s of $$$ of it. So please, don’t buy into that BS that the show was losing money. Trump is just a whinny bag with thin skin, pure and simple. And he had his followers plug the plug.
But more importantly, Stephen will do just fine. I’m sure he’s got a few dollars tucked away, and he can take time to decided what to do next. Stephen is loved and admired. Doors will easily open for him.
But, in case you don’t understand how this all works, a little over 100 folks have lost their jobs.
People like you. Just doing what it takes to make ends meet.
I’m sure most will easily find employment. With The Late Show on their resumes, and positive referrals, they will mostly be okay.
But some will probably need to relocate. Their kids will need to find new friends at their new schools in different towns, states, and possibly countries.
Humans work at these shows. Humans with families. Whose lives have been needlessly disrupted because a grown ass man that is turning 80 next month can’t handle criticism.
And don’t try to blame Stephen for this. Comedians have been picking on politicians since the beginning of democracies.
This is all on Trump.
And, our country is dangerously close to no longer being a democracy.
So don’t celebrate too much.
