Roanoke Shooting Followup
A week or so ago, I was looking at my Facebook wall, and I saw a post about the shooting in Roanoke Virginia; the one involving the WDBJ news team that took place during a live TV broadcast. When I clicked on the article, three similar articles appeared underneath it on my wall. And one of them caused me to take a double look… and a triple…. something about “SHOOTING HOAX REVEALED”…
Evidently, there are a lot of scary people out there that think the shooting was a hoax, as yet another way for the government to take away our guns.
WTF????
Don’t believe me? Google the term “Roanoke Shooting Hoax“…. and you will find about 75K results.
The main arguments of these folks are as follows:
- Evidently Andy Parker, the father of journalist Alison Parker, has had a few acting roles in a some local commercials and theater productions.
- Chris Hurst, Alison’s boyfriend and WDBJ Anchorman, didn’t respond in an appropriate manner when interviewed the following day.
- Vester Flanagan (Bryce Williams), a black man, has a white hand in the GoPro video he shot.
There are a ton of other items on the “evidence” lists they are compiling, but let me just address these three.
Andy Parker – Actor. Shocking…absolutely shocking. There are people out there that take acting gigs in their spare time? I don’t know anyone like that… except my cousin… and the daughter of one of our friends…. and my best friend and I participated in an informercial once….such a rare occurrence indeed…And the even bigger shock? A man that did acting in his spare time, had a daughter that decided to become an on-air broadcaster…no one could have seen that one coming….
- Chris Hurst – fake boyfriend. Brought a scrap book Alison had made of their life together to the interview… which was so obviously scripted…. evidently a few “gaydars” went off on this poor man as well.I have a few theories about this… maybe Chris is gay, and Alison was his cover….have you ever been to the Roanoke area? Not exactly the San Francisco of the East….And maybe Alison was thinking a relationship with Chris was a good career move…Or maybe, just maybe, they were a couple just 9 months into their relationship and they were still in the courtship phase….
Bottomline… you don’t know how you would react in his shoes…
- Vester “Whitehands” Flanagan – The evidence most often presented is a publicity photo of “Bryce” and the hand on the gun in the GoPro video.Have these hoax investigators looked at the pictures of Vester without makeup? He is VERY light skinned, with freckles to boot. I would have been surprised if his hand was a darker pigmentation.
I could go on and on with their theories…but I find it amazing that this “well-orchestrated” attack on the second amendment has so many obvious mistakes. You would think that with all the money invested in taking away our right to bear arms, that they would have at least gotten the right hand color of the shooter….
Do these hoax supporters ever think for one moment that they might be tearing apart the lives of the friends and loved ones of these murder victims? They have to live each day without someone that was a part of their everyday existence, now gone forever. Anytime they might search on the Internet for a little tidbit about the person they have lost, perhaps an insight they hadn’t known, a photo never seen, they will often stumble into your insane horror hoax world, and the wound in their soul will be torn open wide? Do you even care?
Oh wait… this isn’t about them… it’s all about you….
