Obamacare whiners, get over yourselves, and get perspective
I just read yet another story about a man that had his healthcare plan cancelled because it did not meet the guidelines for Obamacare (The Affordable Care Act) and had to pay more for a similar policy that did. For a family of 4, his monthly policy increased from $411 to $540. For a family of four. Yes, four. Followed by this quote: “I’m giving an insurance company money I could be spending on groceries or durable goods or other things. I’m paying more, and for what, I don’t know.”
Let me tell you what you are playing for.
My best friend has a preexisting condition.
She was laid off from her job about three years ago, and could only find part time employment (she works two part time jobs), so she went 2 years without health insurance, which means she went 2 years without her maintenance medications.
Now, because of Obamacare, she has insurance again. The monthly cost is about the same as the whinny bag early mentioned is paying for his family of four. But because she has insurance, she will live longer.
So the next time your are praying, and whining about your insurance rate hike, be grateful that God doesn’t strike you dead for being such a dumb ass. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, other people will live longer lives, and the people that love them will not suffer the early loss of someone they love. You give up a little go someone else can live….. sounds pretty darn Christian to me.
Let’s look at that quote again: “I’m giving an insurance company money I could be spending on groceries or durable goods or other things. I’m paying more, and for what, I don’t know.”
Do you get it now douche bag? And if your not getting a subsidy because your income is over $95,000/year (FYI, this clown live in NC…. the cost of living is tied for 20th lowest in the US. With VA, where I live.), here’s a few ideas:
- Cut back on the Starbuck’s
- Switch to non-name brand groceries
- Consider a more economical vehicle
- Change to blackout curtains in your home. We did, and they paid for themselves in two months; lowered our summer electric bill bout $75/month
I’m pretty sure this will save you at least $129/month. You’re welcome.
